The iconic Boatshed Cafe building sits at the southern end of Anzac Parade and directly anchors itself into the beach of Frenchman’s Bay. The internal dining and external deck areas provide stunning views across Botany Bay, Sydney. The site is located within the Botany Bay Conservation Area. The project involved completely restoring the building and the adjacent deck area and interior fit-out. The new concept, inspiration, and material finishes are influenced by the previous use of the building as a storage facility for boats, with the interior restaurant giving the feeling of being immersed within a boat-building framework.
